Jesus Overcomes the Strong Man
Jesus breaks into the devil’s kingdom by casting out a demon. The breakthrough shows who will win the final victory. Jesus is the Stronger Man who overcame the strong man, the devil at the cross and empty tomb. In the waters of baptism God overcame the devil for you, adopting you as his child by casting the devil out of your heart. Luke 11:14-28) As his child, God calls you to be imitators of his love by renouncing the devil’s way of life. (Ephesians 5:1-9)
